It’s suchhh a shitshow. I can’t look away.

It was honestly badass to watch it again with a great set of speakers on the big screen in such an awesome venue. 💛

I was so scared before and after that my chest felt like it had been hit with a frying pan, though..

I also finally finished the movie Arrival and I’m currently watching the Imitation Game. Emerson and I are taking turns with the TV every other night so we can both watch what we want to watch without one of us hogging the TV for too long.
Emerson also made a take on tom kha soup for dinner after falling in love with it at a restaurant the other night.

It’s called Tres Ojos and it’s lovely.
Other than that I’m still exhausted and I wish I weren’t..

BUT Emerson and I went to a cat rescue yesterday and saw SO MANY good babies. He wanted to adopt a petite void named Zack but couldn’t afford the adoption fee.
Zelda is AWOL, I’ve only seen them for a few hours since New Year’s Eve when they came home last night to crash after leaving their cats locked in their room for a bit over two days.
Mercifully the cats are free now. Who knows where the fuck Zelda is or what (read: who) they are doing.
I’m so tired. I can’t wait to move the fuck out of this shithole.

But Emerson did make these fantastic open faced steak melts and I worked a bit more on developing my set list for Linneman’s on January 5th. We also watched Priscilla, the Priscilla Presley biopic. It was fucking cool.

Emerson and I have been on not one, but two wild goose chases to the courthouse to try and apply for our damn marriage license.
I keep seeing reasons for the six month waiting period like “it’s to keep families together” and “to make sure divorcées are making the right decision and not jumping into another marriage”.
Bitch, Emerson and I have been married in every way but legal for going on three years now. Just let us make it official without another fucking byzantine hoop to jump through.
Aaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I braved my camera shyness and told the backstory for my poem “to dance with a cyclone”, which I’ll post below:
Then Emerson and I filled out our marriage license application and made the appointment to submit it. I’m so excited.
One of our best friends also offered to get us a stay at a nice hotel in town after our wedding as a gift, and we took him up on that, so that’s booked, as well, eee 💛
I really need to get back to posting earlier…
