I got my EEG today at long last.

I overslept and woke up to the news that the Supreme Court decided not to hear Kim Davis’ appeal to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges!
Best sleep I’ve gotten in a bit.

This was the result of a very special workshop on ekphrastic poetry today.
I am a sorceress, twice in exile –
they claim my magic is merely madness, but
those with the eyes to see know better
I am the voiceless breaker of curses, until now
bearer of grief no one knows about
I am no one’s prisoner anymore
to know myself is to know my power
to know myself is the key to my freedom
I have all that I need
there is an embarrassment of riches in my heart
and though you may not like what you see
you might be shocked by it
terrified by it
I have looked within so I can look without
I see you for all that you are now
and you hold no charm for me
I am made of night and waves and song
water and air, wrath and lightning
while you are made of nothingness
I do not need you, you need me
you will no longer have my pain
so here I go, I’ve broken my chains
and the ties that bind me
and I take my first steps into the dawn and
the red world

I got canvases with Emerson today.
I also ate at Red Robin for the first time ever (and ate farrrrr too many fries) and convinced him to try reading Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. It’s been a good day. I am tired now, though..

I’ve been very crashy today.
I haven’t done much except watch some TV, easy a fucccckkkkload of cheese, and sleep a lot.
I’m up for now but I’m not sure how long that will last.

Been running around with Emerson all afternoon.
I’m very tired but I at least got some pants from the LGBT center lol.

I am so happy that I performed my “Invictus” style poem that I wrote on Inauguration Day this year on what turned out to be a very historic election night.
Thank you to all the people in the US who turned up to their polling places yesterday to make their voices heard. This one is for y’all.
WE are the masters of our fate. WE are the captains of our souls.
Not some clown in the White House.
Remember that now and always.
